For Sale by Machine Tools Rebuilt
Description
This listing is for an “on site” or “your location” basic servicing of a 15 inch or 19 inch Leblond Lathe.
This price is for us traveling to you anywhere in the Midwest. Prices fluctuate a bit depending on how far from St. Louis Missouri your shop is.
The scope of the work is as follows:
Headstock:
Left side of head stock shaft ends checked for slop on pulleys. (additional cost are incurred if shafts need replaced, most of the time they can be repaired, but I will need to be able to use machines on site to do so) drive belts and timing belt replaced as needed. Oil flushed and replaced in head stock. Quick change feed gearbox checked for leaks repaired as needed. Shifter detent arms replaced. Servo shift oscillation gears, checked and adjusted. Brake shoes adjusted and resurfaced for proper function. Zero voltage meter replaced with new unit.
One option before we move on is to convert the machine to a manual shift. Pricing structure will remain about the same.
Bed assembly:
Tail stock, disassembled, cleaned out re-shimmed and aligned.
Compound cross slide and saddle, disassembled, cleaned out, reassembled with new nuts and wipers. While the machine is apart, the oil lines get blown out, which are always clogged up. The apron stays on the screws, but gets cleaned out in its position. Oil is flushed and replaced.
Things that may add to the cost are (but not limited to) if the machine needs new screws in addition to the nuts. If your compound or cross slide needs to be scraped in. If your machine has a taper attachment, that also needs serviced. Broken handles worn out dials bad gears, or shafts in the headstock, and leaking seals.some of these things aren’t completely necessary, but they will be options while the repair is being done.
Most of the time we have used parts that can save quite a bit if you do have a major part that needs replaced.
Obviously, as we proceed through the machine there are quite a few things that get addressed that aren’t listed in this outline.
Digital readouts, taper attachments and other tooling are always an option that we can discuss prior to the scheduling of your job.
