Westburgh Electric is the oldest electrical supply and motor repair facility in the area. It was founded in 1919 as Chautaqua Electric Motor Div. of Niagara Mohawk. The name was changed in 1951 to Westburgh Electric, Inc. Roger Blixt, a life long employee, and his son Dave purchased the company in 1962. The business has been operated by the Blixt family ever since. Dave Blixt, CEO, has been involved in the business since 1954. Daniel Blixt, a graduate of St. Bonaventure University with a degree in Finance, joined the company full time in 1990. Dan now heads the customer service and sales department. His brother, Dave Jr., known to his friends as "Scrubby", has focused his attention in the motor repair area. |
