4 Cubic Foot "Automated Finishing" 2-Spindle Finishing Machine

The Automated Finishing Spindle Machine is designed to rapidly remove burrs and surface finish a wide variety of parts. Items especially suited for use in the Spindle Machine are those that are symmetric such as gears, shafts, pulleys and rotors. An abrasive media is rotated at varying speeds in a steel tub to act against a submerged part held in place by a spindle. To assure a uniform finish on all areas of the part, the spindle is rotated within the rotating media. There are two spindles on the machine, each of which can be adjusted and moved in a multitude of positions to enable the acceptance of a wide variety of parts.

The electrical control panel can dictate all machine operations except for manual adjustments on the spindle arm mechanisms. Process timers for full and half cycles can tailor the part finishing to specific requirements. While in the auto mode, the machine will run a complete cycle with out any operator assistance except for loading and unloading the part.

Driving the machine tub is a bidirectional hydraulic motor mounted to the lower frame section. By turning the hand knob on the flow control valve, located on the backside of the tub housing, the speed can vary from 32 to 128 RPM which is equivalent to 300 t0 1200 surface feet per minute (S.F.M.).
